Mr. Baldwin brings to F.R.I.E.N.D.S., INC. twenty-plus years of progressive financial, accounting, supply chain and information technology management experience with an international focus. Mr. Baldwin has worked with both small and large chemical companies, medical billing & technology companies and investment banks. Mr. Baldwin has operational experience gained in marketing, new product development and supply chain/customer support in both chemical and medical companies.

Mr. Baldwin personally states, “There are many groups and organizations that are about raising funds for research, which is needed, but might be 10-20 years down the road before those affected by cancer are helped. F.R.I.E.N.D.S., INC. is totally unique in that we provide help 3for practical needs that all those affected by this insidious disease have to endure. Mr. Baldwin’s major accomplishments include turning-around failing chemical businesses; acquiring, integrating and growing a large chemical/flavor and fragrance business as well as the acquisition of over 10 companies and a successful IPO; establishing global business unit and product line profitability reporting and establishing a global customer supply chain function (customer service, production planning and transportation groups). Mr. Baldwin is currently holding the following positions: COO/Executive Vice-President for Physicians Online – A Medical Billing Company that Increases the Cash Flow and Income for Medical Doctors by utilizing Technology as well as Vice-President Arboris LLC – Responsible for Strategic Growth and Development of a specialty chemical company in the Nutraceutical industry serving Europe and Asia Pacific.

Mr. Baldwin has held executive officer positions in Arizona Chemical which is a specialty chemical company with 11 manufacturing operations in the United States and Europe and global sales coverage; as well as BUSH BOAKE ALLEN, Ltd., London, United Kingdom where Mr. Baldwin had Global Responsibility for all Finance, Treasury and Accounting of a $650 million, Multi-Divisional Specialty Chemical and Flavor/Fragrance Business with Operations in 27 Countries.Mr. Baldwin enjoys travelling with his beautiful wife Debbie as well as biking, and spending time with family and friends!

Morris S. Dees, III, M.D. Oncologist, Vice President/Medical Director and Co-Founder of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., INC.

Morris S. Dees, III, M.D. is board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, he graduated from the Montgomery Academy. Dr. Dees attended The University of Alabama, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. Transferring to the University of Central Oklahoma, he received his Masters in Counseling Psychology and then completed a Clinical Psychology Practicum at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Continuing his education, Dr. Dees graduated with a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Oklahoma Medical School and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. He practiced as an internist and served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine in a large multi-specialty group practice before earning his Fellowship in Oncology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

Dr. Dees has received numerous awards and honors including: The Chief Resident Award, the Mead JThe Chief Resident Award, the Mead Johnson Pharmaceutical Society of Teachers, the OU Family Medicine Honors Research Scholarship, and the Most Outstanding Psychology Graduate Award. He was the Director of University Hospital Cancer Support Groups and has authored such presentations as “Cancer and Psychosocial Issues: An Evaluation of Support Groups” and “Genetics of Breast and Colon Cancer”. His memberships include the Psi Chi Honor Society, the Duval County Medical Association and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Recently, he was the recipient of the prestigious HOPE award from the Beaches Division of the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Dees is noted for saying: “I knew that patients not only needed the very best medicine and medical care – they needed a spiritual focus as well! Again, I prayed to God to help me find a way to treat the whole person: the body, the mind and the spirit. God listened and brought Rev. Lillian Elizabeth Barnhardt Israel, a Minister and breast cancer patient to my office one day. We prayed together for God to heal her and create something wonderful from her journey through cancer. Mark A. Messinese, M.D., Internal Medicine, Chief of Staff Baptist Medical Center Beaches and Board Medical Director of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Dr. Messinese is board certified in Internal Medicine and practices as a Family Physician in the Jacksonville Beaches Area. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida before graduating from the University of Florida, Gainesville with a degree in Microbiology. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the American University of the Caribbean and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, Pa and Temple University. Dr. Messinese served as chief resident and clinical instructor in internal medicine for 4 years before returning to private practice in the Beaches area in 1993.

Dr. Messinese is the former chairman of Medicine at Baptist Medical Center, Beaches and presently serves as its Chief of Staff. He sits on the Board of the American Red Cross Life Saving Corps and also serves as medical advisor. Dr. Messinese’s volunteer efforts include Mission House Clinic, Jacksonville Beach Pop Warner Association, The American Red Cross Life Saving Corps, and Fletcher High School football.

Dr. Messinese has a personal interest in Science and Faith integration and serves as an officer of the local chapter of Reasons to Believe, an international Apologetics ministry. This experience and many years of practice have taught him the importance of treating the physical and spiritual needs of his patients and families as they confront the challenges and uncertainties of illness. The ministry of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is just such a resource and fellowship for cancer patients to share their common experiences and receive encouragement through hope and faith in God. Dr. Messinese believes that God’s word teaches that no matter what circumstances we might face we can be filled with hope that transcends this life.

Dr. Messinese is married to his lovely wife and partner Debbie who manages his medical practice. Between them they have 5 children and enjoy spending their free time kayak fishing, attending Gator football games, and spending time with their children.
